The Answer

For mid-level and grassroots racers, having a sizzle reel is helpful and recommended, especially if you don't have strong social media channels to support research about you. It helps potential sponsors understand what you do and who you are when other data might not be readily available online. However, for top-tier athletes with strong social media presence and consistent content generation, sizzle reels are less necessary because sponsors can research and find plenty of content through social channels. The sizzle reel essentially fills the gap when your online presence isn't robust enough for sponsors to properly evaluate you.
